Can I add text to the Wootheme footer?

    Hi there,

    I have a very simple question. Rather than add to footer widgets, I wondered, is it possible for me to add text directly to the black Bueno Woothemes footer at the bottom of my blog? (http://thesinglefilez.com/)

    If its possible, bearing in mind that I'm not at all technically minded, could someone please explain how it would be done?

    I see this in the footer of your blog which is wearing the Bueno theme.

    Thus I assume you no longer have an issue on that blog.

    Only if you have CSS editing experience and purchase the annually renewable css upgrade and do the work yourself. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-css/

    Hi timethief,

    Quite the opposite actually. I do still have the same issue. As mentioned in my first message, I didn't want to just add to the footer widget (which is what you see on the blog right now).

    I'd like to be able to write in the actual Woothemes footer, which is the black footer underneath the widget footer.

    Is that at all possible?

    Hello again,
    Here's more on CSS editing. If you have CSS editing experience, you can get the paid custom CSS upgrade and renew it annually. It will allow you to stylize the appearance of themes you find here > Appearance > Themes, but it does not allow you to change the functionality, by editing the underlying template.

    Note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS stylesheets from other themes with the themes here at wordpress.COM.

    Also note that you are not allowed to remove or hide the link to the web designer who created the theme nor the "blog at wordpress.com" link from the footer of the theme.

    If you are considering purchasing the upgrade, you can go to Appearance > Edit CSS. There wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try before you buy.

    Hi again,

    To be able to change something on my blog, I purchased the CSS upgrade a few months ago.

    However, as mentioned previously, I'm not technical minded and I had help from someone here in the forums (I think his name was Sacredpath) on which code to use to make the necessary changes.

    Regarding your statement above, I've just discovered a blog where the wording had been changed. So it seems it is possible. I just need to find out, how. Here is the blog - http://sexandthetwenties.com/

    For clarity "yes" the CSS upgrade does provide the ability to "gide" that information. What I said was about "policy". The Staff have just recently told us Volunteers that they do no wish those two footer links to be hidden by means of CSS editing. They have additionally asked that we report sites to them where the "hiding" of the links has been done.

    Also note that http://sexandthetwenties.com/ is not a free blog from and being free hosted by wordpress.COM. It's a wordpress.ORG install and you can do as you wish on that blog but not on the free blog from and being free hosted by wordpress.COM.

    Thanks for all of your help timethief. It seems the answer to my question is that is not possible for me to add text to the Wootheme footer. Not without being 'reported' anyway.

    Seems I have a lot to learn about the ins and outs of the blogging malarkey.
