Can I call someone at WordPress to talk about the appearance of my blog?

    I'm not happy with the appearance of my blog "My Heart Still Hears", and feel like I need to talk to someone who can help me make it the way I want. I'm not sure if I need to choose a different theme, or if I can work with the theme I have to get the appearance I want.

    Is there any way I could call someone on staff at wordpress, and talk in person? That would be the most help to me.

    No, there is no phone support.

    Matters are dealt with via these boards. If you'll post your questions and concerns, someone will address them when they can.

    All right, I'll do my best.

    First, I'm using the Freshy theme primarily because I like it's simplicity. However, I would like to change the colorful, rainbow-like image right below the title of my blog to something more personal, like a personal photograph or something I find online. I'm not sure how to make any such changes.

    Second, I'm not happy with the small size of the font that I'm using for my haiku, but I don't know how to increase it. I want to keep the haiku all single spaced, which forced me (I think) to use the Address option under "Format". I don't mind that my haiku all appear italicized as a result, but I would like a little larger font.

    Third, I would like to have some kind of background behind the text of my blog, something like a wallpaper that is subtle and appropriate for a poetry blog, and doesn't draw too much attention to itself, but is more friendly to the eye than the blank white page on which my haiku currently are displayed.

    Those are my current concerns, but I would be open to suggestions about other aspects of the appearance of my blog from anyone more experienced in these matters than I am.

    The header can be changed by going to Dashboard > Appearance > Header and uploading your own image, however it can only be the dimensions specified for the theme: http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/freshy/

    How write change font size:

    Or purchase the renewable custom upgrades:

    To change the background of where your text sits, I believe this can be done by purchasing a CSS upgrade: http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-css/

    Though I know nothing about CSS, luckily there are people here that do should you decide you want to purchase it.

    Nope, I'm just another user like you.

    If you find you aren't happy with the theme you've chosen there's a ton more to try, no one will know what you like but you; I spent hours getting my blog the way I wanted it by trying different themes.

    You can have single-spaced regular sized font on your haiku if you just hold down the Shift key when you hit Enter.
