I typed as a post what I later decided should be a static front page. Can I change it or do I have to type it (and upload photos) again?
The blog I need help with is squarepuddles.wordpress.com.

There is no way to automatically change a post into a page. It's a manual copy and paste job. Once you have created the page you want to be your front page and a second one for your posts to appear on, you create a static front page by following this guide. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/#setting-up-a-static-front-page
