Can I control the thumbnail image that posts on WordPress.com?

  1. Specifically, let's say I have 3 images in a post. I can't find a way to control which image is used when my post publishes on the WordPress pages. I would have thought using the image as a Featured Image would do the trick, but it doesn't. If I'm tagged as Humor and go to Humor topics just after I post, I find that sometimes my last image is used, sometimes it's one from the middle. In short, it seems random. Also, why does my post show up sometimes as an image with text and other times, my image takes up the whole space, including my blog title unless you hover over it? And lastly, how can I turn off my images showing as a gallery on WordPress.com? This is frustrating to me and I feel it detracts from some good web traffic for a while.

The blog I need help with is shecantbeserious.com.

  2. I believe if you put only one image into the custom excerpt that is the one that automatic things like the WP pages and FB pulls.
