Can i establish a website in premium business wordpress account in Chinese ?

  1. Please note that I have two questions and would appreciate your help to reply:

    1. If i upgrade to a premium account , is it fully Chinese mandarin language supported?
If i want my website to be in both English and Chinese is that possible or would i need to get two premium business accounts to have one in English and the other in Chinese?

    2. Can wordpress be accessed easily from within China ? I use a VPN which gives me access to any overseas site but it seems Mainland China may be blocking wordpress.com because when i dont access through a VPN i cant get to this domain http://www.wordpress.com

    Please advise.

Thank you in advance for your help
    Matt

The blog I need help with is goasiatrade.wordpress.com.

  2. I think we'll need staff to answer some of those questions, so I've tagged this for staff assistance. Good luck!

  3. If i want my website to be in both English and Chinese is that possible or would i need to get two premium business accounts to have one in English and the other in Chinese?

We can set only a single interface language here > Settings > General
    No upgrade changes that reality.

We do not have FTP access and we bloggers cannot install any plugins, we cannot use Microsoft or Google translation widgets or any others, as they are JavaScript and it's stripped out to preserve security on this multiuser blogging platform. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/

However, I have translation on my WordPress.com blogs. There are two workarounds and you will find them here > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/02/14/translation-widget-for-wordpress-com-blogs/
Note: You can copy and paste the code on my Translations page and then replace every occurrence of my blog's URL in the code with your own blog's URL.

  4. China block WordPress.com. See what Staff (macmanx) said here please > http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/china-wordpress-access?replies=4#post-910587

  5. The block is good to know. Thanks, @timethief.

  6. If i want my website to be in both English and Chinese is that possible or would i need to get two premium business accounts to have one in English and the other in Chinese?

Re: bilingual blogging and/or mutlilingual blogging

If you are bilingual or multilingual and want to publish your free hosted WordPress.com in two or more languages but do not want to rely on machine translation that can be done. You can have two or more blogs in different languages and interlink them via categories and custom menus. There’s also a workaround for publishing posts in two or more languages in the same blog. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2013/02/25/wordpress-com-multilingual-blogs/

  7. Sounds like timethief covered all the bases here!

We would love WordPress.com to be available everywhere, but unfortunately several countries block a good deal of the internet from their citizens. In those cases a VPN might work, but it's not something we can control.

  8. Thanks a lot to you guys for your help here. Much appreciated.
The translation tool that Timethief shared with me is great for the basics , its just that it doesnt always translate properly. Its important to get the right words and feelings across in translation. Others including myself have tried google translate too and the translations come out reading quite funny often translated incorrectly and not the meaning that it was intended to be... No worries, I will figure something out. Thanks again! and wish ya all Happy WordPressing !

  9. Hi Timethief - your message re Re: bilingual blogging and/or mutlilingual blogging is helpful and this is the route that I will most probably go . ( http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2013/02/25/wordpress-com-multilingual-blogs/ )
