   hi i have donwloaded .zip version of wordpress theme file which sits in my c drive. how do i upload it to my blog? is it possible if its not a self-hosted blog, i.e hosted at wordpress.com? please advise.

   It is not possible to upload those themes to a WordPress.COM blog.

   If your blog is hosted on WordPress.COM, you can only use the themes available from your Dashboard>>Appearance. You cannot upload themes.

   But still, what are all those nice themes you find on the internet; those are all wordpress themes. I also miss something here :), indeed I'm a rookie...

   They are for wordpress.org blogs. There is a sticky thread at the top of the forum explaining the difference between wordpress.com and wordpress.org.
