   Since there's so much white space next to my thumbnails, I'd like to be able to have my photos appear in 2 side-by-side columns, so folks don't have to scroll down to see them all. Is that possible?

   You can align them left, middle, or right and that should work, provided they aren't too wide. Alternately, you can use a table, as discussed in this thread:
