Can I post directly to a page?

In my travel blog I would like to have a page dedicated to cooking. I created the page, but I don’t know how to create a post that only goes on that particular page (and not on the blog home page). Is there a way to do what I want? Or do I need to create a new blog for Cooking?

yes! You can. Create at least two pages and Go to Settings >Reading , chose ‘Static Page’ option>> set one as your homepage(front-page) and other as the page, where you want to publish your posts. A very easy support documentation is here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

Wpgaurav’s solution only addresses part of the issue. I merely replaces your front by a static page, and displays the list of ALL your posts on a separate section.
