Can i set up a local wordpress.com blog to test before going live?

    Hi - I have a client whose blog is itmanagement2.com - a wordpress.com blog. I am new to the editing theme area - and went through the steps to download and install wordpress locally, install the themes, make asked-for customizations, only to then learn that edits I make - even within css and wordpress options and features - fail on the live site. Even with the same theme and same theme version - there are different bits available on the local (what i now know is the .org version) compared to the .com version.

    My question (at last) is - can I set up my locally hosted (localhost:8888) wordpress to mimic the limitations of the live .com site?

    Hi - as the blog is not in my name, it does not show in the "blogs" popup menu - which is why I did not select anything, as it was empty. I did include the blog name in the first sentence of my post - it is itmanagement2.com. Thanks-
