I want to upload 50 midi files and let people download them for free. How do I go about doing that? Thank you.

  2. What is a "midi file"?

These are the accepted file types > http://en.support.wordpress.com/accepted-filetypes/

"Midi" is short for Musical Instrument Digital Interface. Many solo performers (me included) use them as a sort of backup band. They're audio files played through a midi keyboard or controller.

  4. To upload audio files here, you would have to buy a space upgrade, which also allows you to upload additional file types, but there are limitations on what file types you can upload. See the first link timethief gave and also see this one on the space upgrade: http://en.support.wordpress.com/space-upgrade/ .

Your other choice, if you do not wish to buy the upgrade would be to upload them to one of the file sharing websites such as fileden, etc., and then link to them from your site.

Thanks to both of you. But, apparently, I'm up a creek here. Even with an upgrade, midi files aren't listed as acceptable. Guess I'll have to find another way to share these files.

  6. As I suggested, upload them to a file sharing service online and then you can put links to those files on your site.

Will do. Thanks so much for great advice - I really appreciate it.

  8. You are welcome.
