   If Im using the free blog - how can I get a registration form onto a page of it? I dont see any way to add a 'form' widget?

   The blog I need help with is chmug.wordpress.com.

   There really isnt anything to see yet - I'm just building a blog and I need a FORM for people to fill out with registration information that will be emailed to me.

   Not sure if this FREE wordpress blog allows for that - or if I need a hosted version to do it...

   The contact form here can be used for that. It has a great deal of flexibility and you can add custom fields to it to suit your needs.
