Hi. I'm using Amiru as my template at the moment as I love the colours/design but I desperately want to widgetise it / give it a right-hand sidebar. Is there any alternative template of this already available or can anyone advise me how to do this manually?

Depends: Is your blog hosted by WordPress.com, or is it an independently-hosted blog using WordPress software? If you're hosted here at WordPress.com, you cannot widget-enable themes which don't accept widgets, nor change the layout. If you knew your way around web design, you might be able to do it on an independent blog, provided the theme designer allowed this.
