I am wondering if people without a wordpress account could possibly join?
Is it impossible, and they'd be forced to get an account or not join my blog?

The blog I need help with is shaunadacus.wordpress.com.
Yes they can sign up without having to get an account. They just need to provide an email address. The blog subscription widget checks to see if someone is logged into wordpress or not, and changes the message that is displayed appropriately.
