Can ppl see my e-mail address ?

  1. when I comment on another person's blog. Can they see my e-mail address when they click on my userid link. I don't want to show my e-mail address so is there any way to restrict it to only the administrator.

Only the administrator of the blog can see our email addresses.

  3. Please note, however, that if you say something really heinous, the administrator of the blog could very well post your email address. I've done it several times, myself. But I'm much nastier than most people online, and if you keep your comments relevant and polite it will probably never be an issue for you.

yes, not only they can see your e-mail address, but they can see your IP address altogether with an e-mail as well. regardless of whether you're commenting anonymously or being logged as a registered wp.com user. so, no privacy at all here.

    nope.

When you put your email address in to the field on the comment, it will not appear for the public to see when you leave the comment. The administrator of the blog you commented on, and options points out can see your email address and your IP address, but the public cannot.

When leaving a comment, your user ID link is tied to whatever you type into the "website" field. If you type nothing into the website field, then there will be no link. Typically people put in their blog address so that if people click on your userid, then they will be taken to your blog.

If it's a wordpress.com blog, and you are logged into your own blog, then that information will be filled in automatically based on what your settings in you profile on your blog. Again though, your email address and your IP address is seen by the administrator but will not appear with your comment for the public to see.
