I know that with widgets and when you don't have the CSS upgrade, WordPress doesn't like Java Script. But, I didn't know if you happened to upgrade to CSS then it might let you use it or no??
The blog I need help with is jacksonvillewedding.wordpress.com.
No upgrade will allow you to use Java Script
Would it work to use one of the WordPress.com widgets instead? What are you trying to add?

There is no upgrade you can purchase for WordPress.com that changes what's stated here > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
