Cannot Log In to wordpress.com

  1. First thing to note is that I am signed in and posting this issue with a separate account from the one in question.

On WordPress.com, I can't log in to view my dashboard. I try "Lost your password?", enter in my username, and it says it has emailed me my password. However, I receive no email. I then try the same thing by entering in my email address and it says "email address not found", so I don't know what email address I'm working with... There aren't really any options.

When I try to register again, it says the username is already in use.

Would someone be able to fix this password issue so I can get to my WordPress Dashboard? Username is evelynan and the password should be emailed to [Email Removed please don't feed the spam bots - T3CK]
This is for my blog that is not hosted by wordpress, but WordPress.org sent me over this way.

  2. You did not specify a blog address or reason for posting when you created this topic.

This support forum is for blogs hosted at WordPress.com. If your question is about a self-hosted WordPress blog then you'll find help at the WordPress.org forums.

If you don't understand the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, you may find this information helpful.

If you forgot to include a link to your blog, you can reply and include it below. It'll help people to answer your question.

    This is an automated message.

  3. If you are trying to sign into a self-hosted wordpress.ORG blog, you cannot use a wordpress.COM login. .COM and .ORG are not connected. Self-hosted wordpress blogs are stand-alone.

  4. This link explains the differences between .COM and .ORG: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ .

  5. Oh, and NEVER put your email address in an open public forum unless you want to get all sorts of spam sent to your email address. The spammers constantly scan forums looking for new email addresses to inundate.

  6. Thanks. The reason I came to wordpress.com is because my akismet plugin is asking for the API code and directed me to wordpress.com.

The email address is a junk email address that I don't use except for testing stuff out, but thank you for the concern.

  7. You can use the API key for the account you are signed in with now. Just go to users > your profile and the API key will be right at the top of that page.
