I posted to my blog, but I don't know how to change the category of the post from "uncategorized" to the category I want it listed under. Can you help me with that? Thanks!
p.s. I also can't find a "save" button on my dashboard when I edit posts. Where is it????
Open the post for edit and then scroll down below the text area and the top section is for setting categories. Set you new category by clicking on the little box to the left of the name, and then deselect the "uncategorized category and then save the post.
There is also a link there so you can create new categories. By default the categories shown are your "most used". To see all of the categories you have created, simply click the "all categories" link at the left of the list.
The save button is in the section to the right of the post text area in the editor window.
Actually Categories is the second section below the text area. Tags is the top section.
Thank you so much for your reply! Believe it or not, I actually managed to figure it out on my own. It's amazing how just "playing" on a site can help you learn how to use it. I was able to answer all my own questions and fix what I wanted to fix. I had added additional categories, and I thought if I stuck with it I might be able to figure out what I wanted to do.
I'm so glad you took the time to answer my questions; had I not been able to figure it out, the answer was right here waiting for me.

If you have a default category that you use more often than others, you can go to settings > writing, and at the bottom of the page set the category you use a lot as a default. By default, the default category is "uncategorized." (A lot of default in that last sentence.)
