Can't comment on blogger with WP/OpenID

    I've been trying to comment on some of the blogs I follow and the ones on Blogger suddenly won't let me comment. I repeatedly get the message about the word verification being incorrect, even though it's correct. This only happens when I use my WordPress ID either by selecting WordPress or OpenID. If I just use name/URL (which isn't always an option), it works just fine. It also sometimes tells me that my credentials can't be verified, but I'm logged in and everything.

    Can someone please tell me what is going on?

    This is an ongoing problem with trying to post comments to Blogger (.blogspot) blogs. Open ID fails more often than it delivers so I abandoned using it. The system Blogger expects us to have a blog by the exact same WordPress.com blog name as our username. In my case I deleted the blog matching my WordPress.com username years ago. Unless the .blogspot blogger sets their comments up to accept username and website URL I don't even try to comment on Blogger blogs becuase it will result in failure.     I'm pretty much at my wits ends with blogspot. Even though I've come across some really great blogs, I find myself passing over them or never returning because I can't make a comment or interact in any way.

    I have the same problem with the blogger comment but I think you have to signup on the blogger account and then you are allowed to comment on the blogger blogs . easily

    That's not easy. It also won't let your name link to your blog here then; it'll go to your google account.

    @timethief: Commenting also doesn't work with an OpenID that exactly matches your WordPress.com username.

    Ok, sometimes WordPress.com or delegated OpenID works, but only for the first comment on a post, not for more.

    Several people have posted to the Google/Blogspot forum, but I haven't seen any improvement yet.
