Can't embed video onto my wordpress site - long form or short form

    Hi,

    I know there are hundreds of people posting this question, and I think I have read every single post. I used to be able to embed vimeo videos onto my wordpress site no problem, the ones I did a few months ago are still there. Now when I try an empty box appears on the 'visual' mode and nothing comes up when I publish. Have wordpress changed something? I have tried embedding code, vimeo and youtube, as well as short form urls. I have been in html mode NOT visual mode. Do I need to upgrade something?
