therealrealhousewifeI'm switching my website over to wordpress and within the next 2-3 weeks will be transferring my domain name too, so it won't be the free wordpress site anymore. I was trying to get as much as I could switched over in the meantime so I have as little down time as possible.
My problem is this, I want my site to look like a site, not like a blog. I've figured out how to get a static homepage, but from there, I'm lost. I've watched and read tutorials, and it's not helping.
Basically, on each page, I want to have a picture and a teaser that will link to the full story on a seperate page. Ultimately, there will be quite a few of these picture/teaser combos on each page.
How do I do this? Is it dependent on the theme I choose? Am I able to do this now with the free wordpress or must I wait until I've transferred my domain and have the paid, downloadable version?
I know this is a lot of questions and I'm a complete newbie. Building my site through the other service I was using was so simple because I could put things exactly where I wanted them, and wordpress has thrown me for a complete loop!
