   The service I have registered my domain name with has given me a code to use to transfer the name. Do I transfer it from my account with them or via my wordpress.com account? My account @ wordpress says that the domain name is still registered and all I can do is buy the mapping upgrade. The name has expired with the other hosting service, but I would have to wait 4-6 months for the domain name to be "freed" again. I need the domain up and running ASAP!!! What do I need to do? Please help!!

   WordPress.COM is not able to accept incoming domain name transfers.

   Renew with your old registrar -

   if you let the name revert to the wild someone else can register the domain name and hold it for hostage or map it to a porn site -

   Letting domain names revert to the open market is a real bad thing to do - I got my domain name when the original owner messed up the renewal -
