Ive spent 2 hours trying to set up a blog as a teacher for kids to check their homework assignments...Im 5 minutes away from destroying my laptop....so far wordpress is way to hard for me to figure out...i got the pics on and my name...other than that Im a fool and feel like a jackass.

As I remember it, the calendar will not appear until you have created and published some posts on the site. Right now there is nothing for the calendar to latch onto, especially since it looks like you deleted the sample "hello world" post.
Try publishing a test post and see if the calendar doesn't then show up for you.
And you are not a fool or a jackass. Those names are reserved for politicians. You are just new and starting out, and we all went through this in the beginning.
