Can't get the PayPal Donate button to show up

  1. I've followed the directions over and over several times from this WordPress support page: http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-add-a-paypal-donate-button-in-wordpress/ - but I can't get the Donate button to show up in the Side Bar! I have used the Text Widget as instructed and put in the title and the codes in the bigger text box below the title and the title shows up just fine but not the Donate button. I have tried the email and website code from PayPal but the support page to use the email code. Neither works. I noticed there was one person who like me found the directions didn't work.

    Can anyone help me with this? These are the codes I have used. Can anyone tell me if there is an error? I copied the WordPress html code before and after the Paypal code so I think I am doing it right, but maybe not?

    PayPal email code:

    <img src="The Image URL" alt="" />

    Paypal website code:

    <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick">
    <input type="hidden" name="hosted_button_id" value="XXXXXXXXXXXXX">
    <input type="image" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_donateCC_LG.gif" border="0" name="submit" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!">
    <img alt="" border="0" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" height="1">
    </form>" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><img src="The Image URL" alt="" />

    The blog I need help with is carmelourladysdovecote.wordpress.com.

  2. The instructions we must use for PayPal buttons on WordPress.com blogs are found here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/

  4. Hooray! That's great news. You're welcome.
