The first thing I do is log onto wordpress.com.
I like to check out the weekly photo challenge entries. Unless there is a bar at the top of the blog with a Like button on it, I'm not able to Like.
When I click on the Like button, I get a box that wants me to sign on using my userid and password. Even though I'm already signed on, I relog on. Instead of adding my avatar under the Like button, I am taken back to the top of the blog, with no avatar being added. I have already cleared the cache, allowed cookies for wordpress.com, wp.com, and all the other stuff suggested in other forum questions. Neither the userid nor email address words in this box.
Now, not only am I unable to Like as mentioned, when I try to comment (under the same above circumstances), I get the following message: ""That email address is associated with an existing WordPress.com (or Gravatar.com) account. Please click the back button in your browser and then log in to use it." Or one like it.
This, even though my avatar, etc., shows up underneath the comment box.
Two of the URLs where I have had this problem are:
http://wp.me/pT3BE-jj and
http://jenkakio.com/2012/03/19/weekly-photo-challenge-unusual/
The Like problem has been ongoing in both Firefox 11.0 and IE 8.0.6001.18702. (I don't use any other browser.) The comment problem started today.
Even though I am logged on, I am frequently asked to supply my email address in order to post my comments. I then click on the Tab key and it fills in the rest. Up until today, this was sufficient to post comments.
I've spent a lot of time looking for similar forum questions and found a few, but none of the answers contained therein did anything to take care of these two problems.
Thank you. I always appreciate your help, even when it doesn't work. Hee. Hee.
The blog I need help with is thebiblicalapologist.wordpress.com.
