    Hi,

So I transferred wordpress files onto the server. Now when I try to go to my wp-admin area this error comes up:

"The requested URL /Suite Strings/wp-login.php was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

When I try to install wp (/wp-admin/install.php) this comes up:

"You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first."

Then when I try to log in at this point this error comes up:

The requested URL /Suite Strings/wp-login.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Not sure whats going on.... I just want to log in and start designing!

    Thanks
    R

The blog I need help with is suitesessionstrings.wordpress.com.

  2. So I transferred wordpress files onto the server.

It sounds to me that you are talking about a self-hosted blog. This is the support forum for blogs hosted on WordPress.com and the blog linked to your username is empty.

If you don't understand the difference, perhaps reading this will help http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Support for self-hosted WordPress installs is found at http://wordpress.org/support/

I want to setup up a website.

I signed up for a blog just now, but this isn't what i intended to do today, this just happened as a side project.

  4. Where is the "website" you want to set up?
If it's hosted by WordPress.com, you're in the right place, but if it's hosted elsewhere and you are trying to install WordPress, then you still need to ask at the WordPress.org forums like justjennifer said.
