Can't login - two-step authentication

  1. Hello,

I have a problem with my login.

First of all, it does not concern this account. My original account I use is xellery. I use this one because you cannot post on the forum or contact support without logging in. And as I can NOT login, I can't use the support forums for the other account. (A bit stupid if you ask me.)

Anyway, on the other account the two-step authentication is activated. Therefore, when I login, I am asked to enter a verification code. As I didn't know I had to keep the Goodle Authenticiation app on my phone, I deleted it after the generation of the first code.

Now as I deleted the app, it can't generate a code for me to login.

What can I do now? Can any admin from the support deactivate two-step authentication for my other account? Otherwise I won't be able to login anymore.

    The connected blog is: http://xellery.wordpress.com

    Many thanks in advance!

    Marco (xellery)

  3. Have you tried installing the Google authenticator again? if not, please do. Otherwise I'd be happy to send you a single use code that allows you to login.

    Looking forward to your reply.

  4. Hey,

yes I have installed it again. But I can't generate a code as I need the barcode to scan, and I only get that after I login (which I can't).

  5. I see. I've just sent the single–use code to the blog owner's e-mail address.

Please let us know if you need any further assistance!

  6. Great! Thank you so much!

  7. Hey kardotcom,

    one more thing:

If I want to disable the two-step authentication I need to enter a verificiation code which brings me to the same old problem:

I can't find the barcode again so I scan it and get the Google app running again.

Could you send me another single-use code so I can disable the two-step authentication (or show me how to get the barcode again).

    Thank you!

  8. Sure thing. I've just sent another one.

    Thank you!
