Can't post on my blog using P2 theme

  1. I have a blog hosted at wordpress.com using P2 theme. I am using Mac OS X 10.6.7, Safari 5.0.4
I can't post on my blog.

The blog I need help with is kantweet.com.

  2. Have you tried any troubleshooting? http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/
Have you tried using another browser?
How are you connecting to the internet and to wordpress.com?

  3. Thanks, timethief.
I've followed the instruction, clear all browser setting, cache, disable plugins.
I've try Safari, Google Chrome. Two different internet service provider.

I still can't post any status update, Quote on my blog.

  4. I'm sorry to hear that. You will need Staff help then. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

  5. Thank you.
I sent my question to support yesterday. Still waiting reply.

  6. You know, staff were on walkabout for a while and every time they go walkabout, all these "things" come up in the forums.

I expect there is a connection.

  7. I receive reply from wordpress support:

"We've learned that the issue appears only for blogs that use a domain mapping. We do not yet have a solution for the issue but will be working on one."

    Still waiting their solution......

  8. Well, what good is it then? It's not working for me on smithersgreene.net, either.

  9. @danielgreen
Your blog is wearing the Coraline theme and not the P2 theme. If you have the same issue then please try troubleshooting first. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/
If it does not work then report your blog to Staff. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

  10. That is not true. It's the P2 Theme.

  11. @danielgreene: Have you tried the link for browser issues timethief gave you? If you still have problems, it might be wise to contact staff.

    @timethief: http://danielgreene.com = Coraline, but http://smithersgreene.net = P2

  12. @airodyssey @timethief Thank you for that clarification; yes, I am talking about smithersgreene.net only.

I did try the link for browser issues but still have the issue, and I did contact staff.

    Thanks.

    Thanks for that catch. :)

    @danielgreene
Best wishes for a happy ending. :) I have one more suggestion and that is if you are using IE you will find there are many bloggers reporting issues with it. When they switch to Firefox their issues are sometimes solved so you may want to try Firefox.
    http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html

  14. @timethief Yes, I tried it with the latest version of Firefox for Mac. I also tried it with the latest versions of Chrome and Opera for Mac. I have emptied the cache. In other words, "I did try the link for browser issues but still have the issue." ;-/

I think what I'm having is what @kansir reported that he got as a response from WordPress: "We've learned that the issue appears only for blogs that use a domain mapping. We do not yet have a solution for the issue but will be working on one."

I still like the P2 theme because it shows the authors and it shows more blog posts per page, but it's too bad the main point of it--dynamic posting from the home page--is not working.

  15. What can I say? The problems are widespread an Staff is aware of them. As an act of desperation you could try switching to the Prologue theme and see if it works for you. Both themes do work for me. I'm on a PC with XP and Firefox 3.6.16.

  16. You lucky devil. ;-)

  17. Say what? Doesn't everyone have an old PC for specifically this reason ... lol :D

  18. I just found out I can't even click "Edit" on a blog post from either the home page or the post page. Grrr…

  19. Here's a shot in the dark. You could try using Camino. http://caminobrowser.org/
