Can't set feature image in Google Chrome

  1. As of recently, I am no longer able to set a featured image for my posts - it appears the feature is not working in Google Chrome any longer. I can do it if I switch to another browser (like explorer), but would rather not have to do that. It did used to work, so I'm assuming some sort of upgrade was made that has changed things?

I am using the Delicious theme.

The blog I need help with is frenchfriestoflaxseeds.com.

  2. With Google doing a major update every 17 minutes, who knows why it isn't working. I've moved all my clients that were using Chrome back to Firefox or Safari and my "this doesn't work" or "that doesn't work" emails have pretty much gone away.

  3. Log out, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then try again.

  4. I think staff are tinkering with the uploader right now. In Chrome I can't upload an image at all using the Flash uploader, though I could yesterday.

Switch to the Browser Uploader and try that.

  5. Uploading doesn't seem to be an issue - I write my posts in Windows Live Writer, and they go through smoothly. But I have to manually go in to select a feature image.

I will try the suggestions though - I would rather not have to switch browsers. I like Chrome!

  6. Yeah, a lot of people do, it just seems that every time the do an update (which is often) something breaks.

  7. I just did so without problem on my test blog using Chrome 15.0.874.121 m .

Try logging out of WordPress.com, clearing your cache and cookies and then closing down your browser.

  8. Oh hello! :) Needed to refresh.

  9. G'morning Jennifer (late evening for me).

  10. Good evening tsp! Hope your're doing well.

Hm, just out of curiosity @mbloudoff, are you trying to upload the featured image or are you grabbing it from the media library? I was doing the latter on my test blog.

  11. I was trying to grab it from my media library (already uploaded as part of the post). But I can't even get the window to open to do so - the screen just goes grey, and nothing happens.

  12. Chrome is supposed to update its flash version automatically, but just in case you can check your flash version here:

  13. If it’s not up to date then this is where to download and install the latest version of Flash here. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
