Can't Upload on Free Account

  1. Dear All,

Sorry for the bother but I am a little out of my depth on the matter.

Lately i've been trying to upload images into some of my posts like I have any other however the "Add Media" button is unresponsive. I click it and nothing happens..

I have seen some people with the same problem however I have a free account with WordPress, I have never downloaded it, don't have a server or anything of the sort. I've also cleared my cache and cookies to no avail.

Therefore I am a little stuck on the matter, I'm not even sure when the problem occurred really since I'm a bit of a lazy blogger too

    James

  2. Hi James,

Is this happening with a certain web browser?

Could you try a different web browser:

    1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.

    (b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/
    (c) And what any error reports you receive state.

  4. Hi there, thanks for the reply.

    I'm using Chrome, Version 30.0.1599.101 m

I also tried on firefox at my university as well.

I haven't used up the file space, only on 6% and they are of the right file format. Cleared cache, cookies and deactivated plugins/extensions/addons like I already stated.

I don't receive an error messages, literally nothing happens. I can however add media through the media library in the dashboard . But even then I have no way up putting it into a post.

    James

  5. I am receiving an error message - something about the parent directory..

  6. something about the parent directory

Exactly which blog URL are you referring to?

We provide support only for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and it sounds like you are posting to the wrong support forum. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate, have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names.

If you don't have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

  7. Okay - thanks for the feedback. It's a different site than my normal ones - working on it for a client. It is a paid site I believe.. sorry I was just looking for help! Thanks for the response.
