Can't "Verify domain" for email

    I purchased the WordPress.com upgrade package including domain and then decided to change the site name and bought another domain through WordPress for $18. I am now trying to add email to the correct domain but when I click "add email" on the domain page I keep getting the error message:

    "Oops, it looks like you don't have access to verify the domain in question."

    The incorrect domain works but I don't want to use it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
