I just realized that Im overusing my tags. I changes that, and now the next question popped up. How do I really use my categories in the best way?
For example, if I write a poem I put the category prose. But can I also out the category Writing to it?
I am an author and my blog is all about writing stories, prose and so on.

Yes you can assign both Writing Category and a Prose Category to the same post. What you want to be cautious about is the combined number of Categories and Tags on any post remaining under 10. I never exceed the combined number of 10 and I never have missing posts from the global tag pages.
What's also important is understand that search spiders can detect keywords in content and tags and categories are superfluous. Categories and Tags have been abused to deceive users and drive traffic to totally unrelated sites, so search engines now focus on keywords in your content rather than your categories and tags. Is it worth spending time on creating tags and categories for SEO purposes?
