   When editing a post the categories list shows flat, except for those categories already associated with the current post. Why is this and can it be fixed in anyway.

   Detail:
   Say in the category configuration I have:

   Parent1
   -- Child1.1
   -- Child1.2
   Parent2
   -- Child2.1
   -- Child2.2

   And then say I have a post with Post associated with Parent1+Child1.1. In the categories list when editing that post the list shows:
   X Parent1
   X -- Child1.1
   Child1.2
   Child2.1
   Child2.2
   Parent2

   Not optimal

   The blog I need help with is deadhacker.com.

   Hi. You should then ask at http://wordpress.org/support/

   There is a world of difference between WP.com and WP.org, so our answers would not apply to your situation.
