   my word press blog is http://www.josephricephotography.wordpress.com

   I am trying to add a category. It never appears. If you look at this website http://stephaniedhlearninglog.wordpress.com you can see on the right they have Introduction and then -—0- a-Getting to Know your Camera and so on.. The categories are there.

   When I try and do the same I have to click the Photography Learning Blog link to see what I posted.

   I want to add lots of categories and post in each one.

   Categories can be assigned only to Posts, not to Pages.

   1. Categories can be created in your dashboard http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/#adding-categories-via-the-dashboard

   2. Or they can be created "on the fly" in posts. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/#adding-categories-via-the-categories-module

   3. Until there is a published post in any Category there is nothing that can be displayed in the Categories widget or on the dynamic Categories pages. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/categories-widget/

   Cheers.. I will look into this when I get home from work. I did make posts for the categories but the categories wouldn't appear.
