Categories Number Thingy

  1. I have seen in other blogs that in their Categories, right next to the category name it has a number in brackets of how much posts are in this category.
    EXAMPLE:

    Games (40)
    Entertainment (2)

In my blog (http://www,m4rk0551.wordpress.com/) it doesn't show that. It just shows the Category and I can't find a solution. Any help is appreciated.

  2. I think it's theme-dependent. If you find a blog where it does that, scroll down to the bottom of the page and there will be a line saying what theme it is. If you switch to that theme, it should work.

Can you give us an example of a blog where you see that? The only other thing I'm thinking is, it might be a plugin for regular WordPress.org blogs and not operable on ours.

  3. I am talking about this blog.

    http://www.live360.wordpress.com/

My blog and their blog have the same skin, and both are remotely hosted by wordpress.com

Thanks for your help in advance.

  4. You're on freshy, like me, and it works for me. Have you enabled it in the dashboard?

Dashboard --> Presentation --> Widgets --> Categories and check the 'post count' box.

    Hope that helps.

  5. Hey! Thanks a lot! It worked. Many thanks.

  6. You're welcome. :)

For reference the Category widget can be opened and configured to display numbers of posts as well as hierarchical structure on all themes.
