Center the title

  1. Hi,

    how can I position the tile "American Review of China Studies" at the center of white area? in another words, how to move it down a bit and also move it further to the right a bit?

    Thanks!

    The blog I need help with is arcs-journal.org.

  2. You have both of these rules in your custom CSS, so I just added to them. I did notice you have "description" misspelled in your CSS selector, so you will need to correct that.

    #site-title {
        border: 0 none;
        text-align: center;
        width: 730px;
        margin-top: 20px;
    }

    #site-description {
        margin-top: 10px;
        border 0 none: ;
    }

    On the title spacing down, I took some top margin away from the site description and added it to the site title. The two together determine the height of the white area in the header, so this kept the white area height the same.

  3. Hi I copied your code to the CSS and corrected my mispelling. But the tagline "Official Journal of the Association of Chinese Professors of Social Sciences (ACPSS)" is still displayed in two lines rather than one line. More help pls? Thanks!

  4. Hi, the first code I gave dealt with moving the title only. The following widens the .desc div so that the entire tagline in on one line. I've set it wider than needed so that it should work for most browsers, but it all depends on a person's browser preferences. Some set a larger minimum font size, which could mean some will still see two lines. I've also right aligned the text in the tagline. Modify the existing .desc rule you have in your CSS now to look like the below.

    .desc {
        border: 0 none;
        text-align: right;
        width: 450px;
    }

    I would also suggest combining the two #site-title rules you now have in your CSS into one and deleting the other to keep things cleaner.
