Centering pages

  1. Hello,

    I am having trouble centering my pages, menu etc. I am using the 'structure' theme. im sure its something simple that im missing.

    Is anyone able to help me please

    Thanks - Holly

    The blog I need help with is rhapsodyrags.wordpress.com.

  2. I'm sorry, it's not clear to me what you are trying to achieve.

    Do you mean you want to center the menu? The content on your site?

    Do you have the Custom Design upgrade?

  3. Hi Jennifer,

    I have removed the side bar on the right hand side and would now like to center my pages, (text and images) and menu. The whole of my website actually.

    Yeah I do have the custom design upgrade but cant seem to find the coding to move it over.

    Take a look and it might be a little clearer what I am trying to achieve.

    Thanks - Holly

  4. Do you have the Custom CSS upgrade, or are you doing this by hand in each post?

  5. See what this gets you. The problem with the menu is that the standard trick used to center a div I cannot get to work with this theme so I've had to add margin-left to the menu ul class (.ot-menu). This means if you add anything to the menu you will have to adjust the 150px value each time to recenter the menu. Also if someone has their browser font size set at anything other than the standard, the alignment will be off.

    #contentleft {
    padding: 0;
    text-align: center;
    width: 960px;
    }

    .ot-menu {
    margin-left: 150px;
    }

    One last note: Centering is fine for headlines and headers, but for blocks of text it makes it much more difficult to read. That is why books, magazines and newspapers are never center aligned.

  6. Raincoster: Yes I have the upgrade.

    thesacredpath: Thank you for your help! Do I need to replace this with anything or just add it on the ot menu?

    Thanks

  7. Hi thecacredpath, I think I have sussed it. My menu is now centered, but how do I get all pages centered also?

    Thanks
