When I created the blog's url I did not assign a Blog name. Now, I can't seem to change it to its new name, it still shows as "My Blog" under the Dashboard. I know that I've been able to change it on my other blogs but can't seem to do it now. Thanks.
The blog I need help with is caitlynnsoccerteam.wordpress.com.
Settings > General
The name has somehow changed but I've done it to another blog that I set up at the same time. I've tried to change the Settings > General many times but it doesn't seem to work. I feel there must be a bug. I've even tried changing the themes to see if that would do it. Still need help. Thanks.
Are you clicking the "save changes" button at the bottom of the page after changing the blog title?
Yes, I have been saving the changes.
Now the 2nd blog's title has been changed. I thought maybe it didn't accept punctuation so I tried that and now the first blog's title has gone wonky again (probably due to my tinkering). I've changed the title, again on the first blog, and will see if it somehow magically changes to what I want.
To repeat what I've been seeing, try this:
1) Change the title in the Settings > General and clicking on "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.
2) Go to My Account > My Blogs and look to see what the title is (should show the old name). Click on the Address of the Blog, the title should show the new name just entered.
3) Go to the Dashboard of the blog and go to the Settings > General it will show the changes just made and if you repeat #2 (My Account > My Blogs) it should show the old name.
Maybe it is a delayed update thing.

If the correct name is showing when you go back to settings > general but not at my blogs, then it is a delayed update thing either with wordpress, with your browser, or with an invisible proxy server somewhere between you and wordpress.
Log out of wordpress, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then look again. IE is notorious for hanging onto cached versions of files and refusing to update them when you call for a forced refresh/reload of a page. The only way to get it to actually update all the files is a cache clear and restart of the browser.
I did restart my computer before I asked for Support to see if it was a cache problem but it didn't fix the problem. If I gave WP enough time it was magically fixed so it must be a delayed thing with wordpress. Thanks for the help I'm going to consider the matter closed but it is worth noting. Kelly
I am having the same problem. My blog names under the dashboard do not update the changes made. However, when I go to dashboard, settings, I am able to change the Blog Title.
Is the blog title and blog name different, if so maybe that is why it is not updating under blog names in the dashboard.
Please help, anyone at all.
Log out of wordpress, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and try again. IE in particular seems reluctant to accept cookie updates much of the time.
I am having the same problem. When I change "blog title" the title shows up on my header and I don't want that - I have my own custom header... I want to change the blog NAME, not the blog TITLE..
