I misread the instructions on how to change blog address and wanted to switch to a new blog domain.
I created a new blog, then went to move my blog from old blog to new blog, but couldn't because the blog name was already taken, by me.
So I deleted new blog and tried to change blog address, but couldn't because blog name was not available.
How can I change my blog to the address I want, the new one that I created but then deleted?
The blog I need help with is opensaysamie.wordpress.com.

The change address and disclaimer before you delete your blog needs to be clearer. Upon first read, it read that it could be useable in the future, not that it was permanently going to be gone, as in never available, ever.
There was no option to free up the domain, yet there was when I looked into deleting my blog that has posts on it.

You may have seen a drop-down menu (presumably created in an attempt to avoid situations like yours) where WordPress.com asks you what you actually want to do in order to offer you the proper solution.
