Change colour of my title

  1. I would like to change the title on my blog from black to purple. I have NO idea where to begin. Where do I find the stylesheet to input a new code? Please help! Thanks a million!!

    The blog I need help with is piesandpearls.com.

  2. To start out, I would recommend checking out a basic CSS tutorial like this one:
    http://www.htmldog.com/guides/cssbeginner/

    For every WordPress.com blog, the original theme stylesheet is linked in the Appearance → Custom Design → CSS → CSS Settings section with a link named "View the original stylesheet."

    Here is the original stylesheet link for the Bueno theme:
    https://s-ssl.wordpress.com/wp-content/themes/pub/bueno/style.css?m=1332170615g&minify=false

    Browser tools such as the built in web inspector for Chrome and Safari or the Firebug add-on for Firefox are also a really good way to review CSS and find out which selectors you need to update. To use the web inspector in any browser that has it enabled, right click on an element such as the site title and click on the "Inspect Element" option. It should then show you the HTML code for that element as well as all of the CSS that is applied to it. Often, you can just copy out the piece you would like to change, modify it a little (i.e. the color code in this case), and save it in your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS page to make the change.

    When I right-clicked and selected "Inspect Element" on your blog, I saw this CSS which makes the site title black:

    .site-title a:link, .site-title a:visited {
    	color: black;
    	text-decoration: none;
    }

    So you could add something like this to your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS page change the color from black to purple:

    .site-title a:link, .site-title a:visited {
    	color: #3B0466;
    }
