First thing you do is turn your Caps Lock off.
Is the Tagline what you're talking about?

Thank you notawoodpecker I believe Tagline is what i'm talking about. I have already been into settings/general settings as above. What came up mentioned Tagline but not so far as I could see how to change it.
Will not be able to reply for about 8 hours. Sincerely EB

Please allow me to go a little deeper than where to locate and replace a tagline. The site title tag is the most important tag in your site. Taglines are meant to brief branding messages.
Note that many bloggers seem to be blissfully unaware that the combined number of characters they use in a site title and tagline do have an impact on SEO. I see bloggers posting huge blocks of text in taglines and in author profiles below their posts on themes that provides author profiles. Their verbosity is queering their SEO. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/08/02/top-5-site-title-tag-tips/

Thank you for very informative post. I can understand the issue of briefness.
Your site is also interesting.
I still need to be able to change the tagline; if anyone can help I would appreciate. Sincerely eb
As Notawoodpecker posted, the instructions are here http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/general-settings/#changing-your-site-title-and-tagline
