Change Footer Text Color

  1. What is the CSS code to change the footer text color in structure theme at wipoutreach.wordpress.com.

    The blog I need help with is wipoutreach.wordpress.com.

  2. What color do you want to change it to?

    You will need to visit a hex code picker site such as http://www.december.com/html/spec/color.html

    You are looking for "hex code": the hex value for black is #000000 and for white is #ffffff. Once you have the hex code for the color you want, you're good to go!

    The css will look something like

    <p style="color:#FF2400;">this is what your footer says</p>

    If there is already a color declaration, just change the hex value to the one you want.

    If there is already style stuff in there, just add "color:#xxxxxx;" to the end of the list.

    All CSS editing at WordPress.com is themes specific. Selectors vary from theme to theme, and so does the structure of each theme. Please see this article > Where is the theme CSS and how do I edit it?

  4. Thanks , but that code does not work for the Structure theme Footer Box at the bottom of Homepage, Post and Pages. I want to change the text color to "FFFFFF because it was "000000 but my footer background color is black so the Text disappears.

  5. AH!

    If you want the text to go away, the better method is to just delete it.

    Matching text and background colors is a frowned-upon technique, and it can potentially upset the ability of people to find you on google.

    timethief, do wordpress.com users have the ability to edit the footer.php file directly, or edit that content elsewhere? (I seem to recall that the WP preference is to discourage editing/removing it.)

    If you upgrade to a self-hosted page, you could modify footer with much more flexibility.

  6. May I remove credit links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com’, theme, font, or toolbar links?
    All WordPress.com bloggers are required to maintain the credit links, even our VIP bloggers. Please do not hide the footer credits or the toolbar with CSS after purchasing a Custom Design upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions

  7. Does the Custom Design upgrade let me edit HTML?
    No. The Custom Design upgrade allows you to edit fonts and CSS only. You can change the appearance of a theme, but not its HTML markup, PHP code, or content. Read more ... http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions

  8. P.S. Making the font the same color as the background or shrinking the font size to such a tiny size it's barely discernible is not allowed.

  9. I think this is what you want:

    #footertop h4,
    #footertop li a,
    #footertop li a:link,
    #footertop li a:visited {
    	color: #fff;
    }
  10. Thanks so much, the footer is great.

  11. I need a CSS code to change default text color on Post and Pages. The default heading color is White and the boby text is a light grey and hard to read, so I make it a heading text so it will show up. Also if you look at post pages, there is tiny grey writing in the footer, links and other places.

    Check Out random pages or post and you'll see grey writing that is not legible. Also the default widget text color is light gray. I need to change all this. to a visible color. See wipoutreach.wordpress.com

  13. You appear to have gotten the bulk of this figured out except for the meta text under the post titles and the grey label text associated with the contact form. Add this to the bottom of your CSS and see if that gets you the rest and let us know.

    .postauthor p, .contact-form label, .contact-form label span, .postmeta .cat-links {
    color: #FFFFFF;
    }
  14. I'm customizing my Book Lite header title. I want to shift the title to the left. I'm unfamiliar with CSS. Can someone give me the code?

    Many thanks.

    All CSS editing is theme specific. This is a Structure theme thread. It's not a Book Lite thread. Please click this link to create you own thread > http://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization#postform
