Change in Top Rated Widget

  • Just wish to submit a displeasure with the change implemented recently on Top Rated Widget for the sidebar.

Prior to a recent change by WordPress, there used to be three tabs in this widget: 1) Today, 2) This Week and 3) This Month, with a default view of This Week on the front page. This setting was suitable and appropriate as it would reflect recently published posts rated by the visitors.

After the change, a new and fourth tab was introduced, called All, with a default view on the main page. This tab now brings out really old posts from the past (extending months and years) to the front view.

Perhaps other bloggers here may find this change suitable and appropriate but it does not work well for me and I am really disappointed with this change.

PS: This is not a support question. Just sharing to add a voice for those who may be equally displeased.

  • I’ve never used this widget. I do have a section at the very top of my blog where I place links to 2 – 3 older but still relevant posts on my blog and change them every 1 – 2 days.
