Change visual editor font

  1. Hi folks!

I was wondering if there's a way to change the font used on the TinyMCE visual editor. I believe the one used is Garamond or something similar and the theme's is verdana, which to me is much more easier to read.

I'd like to use also verdana or similar within the editor for readibility, even though I'll be the only one reading it. Is it possible?

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is enraona.wordpress.com.

  2. There are 4 ways to change fonts in wordpress.com blogs. Do keep in mind that each theme has fonts coded into them and that can only be changed thrpoughout the blog is by purchasing an annually renewable CSS editing upgrade and doing the work your self. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/02/04/changing-fonts-in-wordpress-com-blogs/

If you have CSS editing experience, you can get the paid custom CSS upgrade and renew it annually. It will allow you to stylize the appearance of themes you find here > Appearance > Themes, but it does not allow you to change the functionality, by editing the underlying template. Also note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS stylesheets from other themes with the themes here at wordpress.COM.

Since there is no official Staff support for the CSS upgrade, and precious little Volunteer support, I recommend that you don’t buy the upgrade unless you have at least moderate understanding of HTML and CSS because you must be prepared to do the work on your own.

If you are considering purchasing the upgrade, you can go to Appearance > Edit CSS. There wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try before you buy.

If you do purchase the upgrade be sure to read this article before starting your editing > http://csswiz.wordpress.com/2009/10/15/if-you-have-the-wp-com-css-upgrade/

  3. Damn, I did anticipate this misunderstanding and yet I couldn't express myself so the thing wasn't misleading.

I'm not trying to change the blog's font, I'm trying to change the internal visual editor's font and I couldn't find any reference at all anywhere on how to do it (opposed to change the blog's font). Only this: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/visual-editor-font-size/

But it's not the size I want to change, but the style, and I don't want it to change in any way how the text is displayed later on the blog. (So that should discard CSS?)

I'm really sorry you wrote such a long text over a misunderstanding :/

  4. >blockquote> But it's not the size I want to change, but the style

The TinyMCE editors we have has limnited features. We can change font size and color a post and page at a time as deceribed in my post.

If we wish to change font families ie. style throughout the blog then we can use TypeKIt fonts or the CSS uopgrade. Those are the only choices.

  5. OOPS! Soory about the typos.

The TinyMCE editor we have has limited features. We can change font size and color a post and page at a time as described in my post.

If we wish to change font families ie. style throughout the blog then we can use TypeKit fonts or the CSS upgrade. Those are the only choices.

  6. We cannot change the stuff in the dashboard such as the display font in the visual editor.

  7. Unless you use one browser for editing and another browser for viewing other webpages. Then you can set the first one to display everything in the fonts you prefer instead of the original ones.
