whatshotwhatstrendingnowEver since Google Image Search was changed a few days ago it has had a dramatic effect on the number of visits my site has been getting.
Prior to the new version of Google Image Search I was receiving between 3k and 15k of hits per day but this has now reduced right down to around 1k per day.
Google now provide a full size image on their image search which means that people no longer have to go through to the original provider of the image. How this is allowable I am not sure, Google have not paid anyone for the use of their images and there was no discussion that I could find before the changes were implemented. They did make a comment that they believed the traffic to the websites would increase as a result of their changes in the image search function but this has certainly not been my experience.
It has been a very disappointing change as far as I am concerned and does not seem to encourage people to put time into posting fresh image content.
Has anyone else had a similar experience or indeed found that their traffic has increased?
