Changing blog name vs. domain, and deleting old blog

    Before I realized that I could change the domain name of my current blog I copied my current blog to a different domain on wordpress that I had reserved. However, I realized after I copied all my info to the new URL that it would be easier to finish the process by deleting the new blog and renaming the old blog to the URL of the new one. (i.e. i had carternewblog.wp.com but decided to delete it and rename cartergoescontinental.wp.com as carternewblog.wp.com)

    This is where I messed up. Now wordpress is saying my new URL(carternewblog.wp.com) is not available and I cannot use it. Does anyone know if the url ever comes back up as available? Perhaps it takes a few days to offload from the servers. I don't know. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

    The blog I need help with is cartergoescontinental.wordpress.com.

    Hi there,
    I'm sorry but deleted blog URLs here are not recycled.
    See > http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
    and http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

    You can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

    Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

    I just bought a wordpress.com domain eg: "seven.com" and I'm wondering if I can delete the free version of it eg: seven.wordpress.com" Help please
