changing colors

  1. Can someone take a look at my blog and tell me what that navy blue bar across the top right side is called in CSS language? I am trying to change the color and cannot for the life of me identify it .

    thanks!

The blog I need help with is jillwelchphotography.wordpress.com.

  2. First a suggestion: Go to settings > reading and set your site to show perhaps 2 or 3 posts per page. With so many images on the main page it seriously took 2.5 minutes for your main page to load on my wireless internet connection. No one will wait that long, and there are still a very sizable number of people on slower internet connections (under 1.5Mbps). Also, the search engines consider page loading times when calculating search engine ranking and your site is likely to take a big hit with them due to the slow loading.

The dark blue in in the background declaration in #nav.

  3. Thanks! You are awesome! Can we be penpals? I have soooo many other questions. Like, is there a spot to put tags that google is most likely to pick up? Like, do you put the subject matter in a certain secret powerful place so that google will find it or are they just looking at the titles?

    Also, does it load faster?
