Changing header background in Twenty Eleven

  1. I know how to change the font color here through the CSS code, but ideally I would like to have an image as the header background or at least change the background. The background color currently changes with the background color of the body but I want to isolate just that section.

    Also, I'd love to get rid of the WordPress footer on the bottom that specifies the theme and WordPress hosting.

    The blog I need help with is blog.beaconofhope.org.

  2. I would like to have an image as the header background or at least change the background.

    It appears you were able to figure this out with the following CSS:

    #page {
    	background:url('http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r530/jhgonzalez7/Blog%20Banner%20copy_zps5cb9d6ad.jpg') no-repeat, #FFFFFF;
    }

    Nice work!

    If you need any further help with the header that you weren't able to figure out, please reply back to this thread and mark the status as "not resolved."

  3. Also, I'd love to get rid of the WordPress footer on the bottom that specifies the theme and WordPress hosting.

    We do require that you keep the footer credits and links in tact as part of our Terms of Service, but I can help you modify them if you want to make them look a little different or add some text before or after the footer.

  4. I do need a little more help. While I figured out how to get that header there, I can't get it to resize automatically to fit the width of the window.

    I've tried a bunch different CSS code to accomplish this and this is what I'm using at the moment (to no avail):

    #page {<br /> background:url('http://beaconofhopeblog.files.wordpress.com/2012/10/blog-banner.png') no-repeat, #FFFFFF;<br /> width:auto;<br /> }

    Some stuff I've read is telling me that this kind of customization would only be possible if I self-hosted the blog.. SAY IT AIN'T SO! I'm new to all of this and wouldn't want the extra responsibility (and headache) of self-hosting when all I want is such a simple tweak.

    Any help is MUCH appreciated!

  5. I found that you asked that same question in duplicate post, and I've answered it there: http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/automatically-resizing-page-image?replies=2#post-1039622

  6. Thank you so much again! Sorry about the duplicate, no more of that moving forward

  7. No worries. Cheers :)

  8. Hello,

    I have imported the content from wordpress blog into self-hosting one and it does not allow me to change background and logo, why?
