changing look of "Sorry, no posts matched your criteria." message

  1. Can anyone advise of the custom CSS changes necessary on the Rounded theme to change the look and colour of the "Sorry, no posts matched your criteria." message that gets displayed when a user tries to search for a post but enters invalid criteria. Thanks.

    P.S. A specific search facility on the CSS customization forum would be useful.

    I see the following icons in your blog Visa, Mastercard, Amex and Euro Shopping Cart, Sterling Shopping Cart, and US Dollar Shopping Cart in the left sidebar. At the end of your posts I also see "click to order".

    You will have to remove these if you do not wish to see your blog get deleted.

    WordPress.com blogs are currently non-commercial blogs and we are not allowed to transact business on them. Also advertising is not allowed on our blogs at this point in time.

    From the FAQs http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/12/08/adsense/

    Adsense and other Ads
    Adsense, Yahoo, Chitika and other ads are not permitted to be added by users. Adverts that may be inserted when using an external blogging program will be blocked.
    Sponsored / paid posts including PayPerPost and ReviewMe are not permitted.
    Sponsored / paid links are not permitted.
    Text ads are not permitted.
    A discreet link to your business in the sidebar or an About page is permitted.
    One discreet link to Amazon per blog is okay, but if the primary purpose of the blog is to drive traffic to affiliate programs that’s not allowed. If you’re not sure, contact support.
    Clicktrackers and any promotion of the “I made a million on the internet and so can you” type of advertising are expressly forbidden.
    We have a very low tolerance for blogs created purely for search engine optimization or commercial purposes, machine-generated blogs, and will continue to nuke them, so if that’s what you’re interested in WordPress.com is not for you.

  3. I guess you cannot answer the question I asked initially then thistimethisspace (CSS)

    I see your point but I am a little puzzled because as far as I know there are many wordpress blogs out there which are linked to other commercial sites... some subtle and some not so subtle.. I know that doesn't make it right but no one is forcing users of the blog to click on the links there-in. Has anyone else got any thoughts on this?

  4. i can see why you would want to change that. It looks like hell.

    I went into the source and found that the message is in #content. I think you're going to have to mess around with the following properties:

    #content {
    	float: left;
    	margin: 0px;
    	padding: 0px;
    	width: 65%;
    }

    #content .post{
    	background: #f00;
    	background-color: #fff;
    	color: #4f402a;
    	margin: 14px 0 0 10px;
    	width: 100%;
    }

    #content .post p img{
    	border: none;
    }

    I don't have time right now to do it for you and test it, but that should at least give you a starting point.

  5. radiofc, TT gave you good advice: I have seen many blogs killed for less. Be sure to know the difference between WordPress.com blogs and WordPress.org blogs, because the latter can have anything they want on them. Meanwhile, make those changes because you do NOT want your blog offed in the meantime.

  6. ok I had my blog offed for the reasons stated - how do I get them to unsuspend my account so I can get at the content and ensure that the blog adheres to the requirements?

  7. contact support using the Support button that is normally available on your Dashboard Monday-Friday or email them at support[at]wordpress.com
