Changing "Older and Newer Posts" to "Older and Newer Stories"

  1. Hello,

I'm building an archival site with Comet as my theme, and I've purchased the Custom CSS upgrade.

    Here's the site in question:

    http://www.intimatejournalism.com

I'm interested in changing "Older Posts" and "Newer Posts" on the site to "Older Stories" and "Newer Stories" (at the bottom of the page).

Let me know what CSS changes are necessary. I'm somewhat new to this and might need some guidance.

Lastly (and this may be difficult), I'm looking for a CSS change that does NOT utilize the "nav" element (I need the site to be fully functional in IE8 and above).

    Thanks!!

  2. Unfortunately I can't answer that for you, but with all you've done with theme I'm hoping you can help me!

I'd like to move the nav menu from the top to under the banner and can't for the life of me figure out where to do that in the CSS...I'd also like to remove the border from the menu and the sidebar items, as well as change the color of the sidebar boxes...any advice you have would be much appreciated!

  3. @meantformongolia, could you please start a new thread? Your question is very different compared to the original one posted here.

@dreesse1, I think the CSS I posted in the other thread you started about the older/newer posts will work, I can re-test it in IE9 again in a bit.

  4. @designsimply: Unfortunately, the CSS you posted in the other thread did not work. I tried switching to Comet (an XHTML theme) to fix the issue, but ended up going back to Quintus (since it's the look I want anyway). I chose to display all of the posts on the first page to circumnavigate the "Newer/Older Stories" issue entirely.

I'd really appreciate it if you could find a fix for this that's viewable in IE9 and above. IE8 and above would be best, but I understand that might be impossible.

  5. @designsimply I did start a new thread, but no one seems to have answered it yet! Here it is: http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/comet-theme-edit-issues?replies=2

    Would really appreciate your help!

  6. @dreesse1 I should have mentioned before that what you are asking isn't really a typical CSS change, but I really wanted to try to figure it out! Also, when the theme does get updated to use infinite scrolling, those buttons will probably go away. Sorry I didn't get the answer fast, it was actually more tricky than it seemed at first!

@meantformongolia, the thread isn't very old! I do love it when volunteers contribute back to our community, but I also spend time helping to make sure everything gets answered. I will get to each thread eventually. :)
