change order of pictures for slideshow:
I'm not sure if I understand the new way of uploading slideshows correctly because I can't figure out a way to change the order of the pictures. Surely there is a way???? And surely an easier way than uploading pictures one by one! If I use the control button to upload multiple pictures at a time it still uploads them in number order and not by the order I chose them. Please help me.

Start by uploading the images into your page or post. There are still changes to be made such as bringing the slideshow button back. In the interim you can still create slideshows using the slideshow shortcode, provided that the images have already been uploaded through the post or page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/slideshows/#adding-a-slideshow-with-previously-uploaded-images

The links just provided are out of date and unfortunately have no bearing on the new image slideshow configuration. I agree that if the only way to arrange the slideshow is to load the images, including those you may want to insert in the related post, in reverse order, it certainly sucks. I have spent a lot of time trying to order my slideshow using every way currently possible to no avail. The old method was fine - as the saying goes, it it works, why fix it???? The new gallery display sucks too - who's new idea was this?

Well thanks anyway, I appreciate you trying to help. Just a little frustrating when they decide to change something that works fine for something that clearly doesn't. Not very impressed I'm afraid after trying to sort it for hours. Cheers. PS. Good username 'Timethief', perhaps wordpress support should be using that one ;-)
We do intend to bring back the "Insert slideshow" button and its associated features in a future release.
I know this is an inconvenience for some, and we sincerely apologize.
If you require finer control over the slideshow order beyond what's currently possible using one of the techniques I described here, you might want to look at using a gallery as an alternative in the meantime.

Somehow, I was typing last week in a forum titled, "How to insert a Slideshow."
I already have a slideshow- I simply need to rearrange the photos!
It has always worked before.
Why fix something that wasn't broken?
I do not have time for this—as there are over 100 photos.
Please tell me something has improved since last weekend.
